Design Process…

Before your appointment we will ask you to bring any inspiration you have, the outfit your headpiece will be worn with or colour swatches if your dress is being made. We can then colour match your hat with much more ease and see how the style and shape would work with the dress. You will be able to put your outfit on in the studio while you're trying on any of our collection and during your hat fitting sessions.

You can try on as many Scarlet Minx pieces as you like. If you love one, we can make you something similar in the colour of your choosing, or, if you like several pieces but simply can't decide, we can take elements from the hats you like and create something that combines the different aspects you want. We will sketch out your ideas and play around with different designs on paper first. Once you have settled on a design, we will mock up your bespoke piece to a stage where you can try on. At this point, we will be able to make any changes or tweaks before it is finally finished to the highest standard. Sometimes a second fitting prior to finishing can be required just to make sure everything is perfect for you and you are completely happy. Any tweaks with feathers, flowers or even fit can still be done once the hat is finished.

If you have your very own design ideas instead and would love them realising, no problem at all. We go through exactly the same sketching process so we are both clear on your vision before anything is made. Then the mock up and fitting process will begin as normal.

Most design minor tweaks that are made before completion will be included in the quoted cost but any major redesign work will be charged on top. Any extra costs will be discussed with you first before going ahead with any redesign.

Once you have chosen your design, we take a 50%, non refundable deposit with the final payment taken on collection.
